Geeks On Call Features Its Parents' Guide to Internet Safety for National Cyber Security Awareness Month

NORFOLK, Va., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Geeks On Call Holdings, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: GOCH), a premier national provider of professional IT solutions to small business and residential customers under the trade names Geeks On Call(R), 1-800-905-GEEK(TM), and CallTheGeeks.com(TM), announced today that it is featuring its Parents' Guide to Internet Safety in support of National Cyber Security Awareness Month in October.

The Geeks On Call Parents' Guide to Internet Safety is a unique reference tool created to help parents protect their children from Internet threats and understand their Web surfing habits. Valuable topics include the Top Ten Tips for Internet Safety, a chart of dangers by age, outlines of personal and technological threats inherent in each kind of computer activity (such as IM, e-mail, and social networking), and suggestions and instructions for ways to avoid or combat those threats.

The Parents' Guide also provides a comprehensive "chatspeak" dictionary that enables parents to decipher the abbreviations their children use when texting their friends or chatting online.

According to Geeks On Call CEO Richard Cole, "Parents armed with this knowledge can lessen their fear of the unknown while helping their children use common sense practices to protect themselves from unnecessary risks."

The Parents' Guide to Internet Safety is widely used by professionals and volunteers alike in seminars, schools, churches, social organizations and Internet blogs, to educate parents and spread Internet safety practices to as many people as possible. Cole implores, "Join with us to make the Internet safer for everyone, especially children. Make this link a permanent part of your web site and share it with everyone you know."

Geeks On Call's Parents' Guide to Internet Safety is available as a free download on their web site at www.geeksoncall.com/guide.
