| Becky Linder
Becky Linder is the Director of
International Trade Policy at AeA, Advancing the Business of Technology.
Based in Washington, D.C., Ms. Linder is responsible for AeA’s
international environmental policy positions and market access
initiatives. These responsibilities include coordinating and increasing
industry and government dialogue on the European Union’s adopted
Directives on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and
Restrictions on the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and
Electronic Equipment (RoHS) to ensure efficient industry standards and
exemptions are incorporated. She is working closely with the high-tech
industry to build an effective strategy for responding to similar draft
regulations in China. She is also responsible for oversight of China’s
implementation of WTO obligations of interest to the high-tech sector.
Prior to joining AeA in April 2004, Ms.
Linder worked as Senior Legislative Assistant for Congressman Cass
Ballenger. Her responsibilities included advising the Congressman on
legislation related to international trade, environment, technology, and
energy. She also monitored progress on Central American Free Trade
Agreement and other Latin American trade issues for Congressman Ballenger,
Chairman of the Western Hemisphere Subcommittee of International
Relations. Furthermore, she communicated on the Congressman’s behalf
with the Administration, Congressional offices, the media, constituents
and constituent companies.
Ms. Linder holds a Master’s degree in
Commercial Diplomacy from the Monterey Institute of International Studies,
Monterey, California. She received her Bachelor’s degree with
departmental honors in political science from Lenior-Rhyne College in
Hickory, North Carolina. Ms. Linder also studied in Beijing, China.
