| AnnMarie Treglia is the Director of
International Trade Regulation at AeA Advancing the Business of Technology. Based
in Washington, D.C., Mrs. Treglia is responsible for AeAs Export Controls and
Customs Committees, and also manages certain issues currently subject to international
trade negotiations, such as the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). Prior to joining AeA in June 1999, Mrs. Treglia spent two years as a Trade
Analyst for JBC International, a Washington, D.C., based consulting firm. In this
position, she worked on a variety of issues related to export controls, customs,
standards, and intellectual property violations. She also monitored progress on
negotiation of the Free Trade Area of the Americas on behalf of the companys
clients.
Prior to JBC, Mrs. Treglia worked in Rome, Italy, for the
Foreign and Commercial Service at the U.S. Embassy and in Milan, Italy, for the
Westminster Institute.
Mrs. Treglia received her bachelors degree from St.
Marys College in South Bend, Indiana, with a major in Psychology and minor in
Italian language. She received her masters degree from The American University in
Washington, D.C., in International Affairs concentrating in International Economic Policy.
She completed a year of undergraduate school in Italy. Mrs. Treglia also studied in Costa
Rica. She is fluent in Italian and has working knowledge of Spanish.
She also has written two articles on international trade
issues for the Journal of Commerce.
