Instructor: Bill Harris; Founder, Facilitated Systems
Strategy is vitally important
to the success of most companies. This ELI workshop will help
participants discover how to apply relatively new insights from the field
of systems thinking to the challenge of strategic planning.
We'll start by forging a
common understanding of strategy and its role in organizations.
We'll take a quick, broad view of systems thinking and then explore how
one systems thinking approach can address strategic issues
effectively. Participants will practice this approach on problems of
their own choosing. We'll finish by discussing how this relates to
other systems thinking approaches for strategic planning.
By the end of the day,
participants will have an approach they can apply in their won
organizations, and they'll have some idea of both its strengths and
limitations.
Bill Harris founded
Facilitated Systems in 1999 to help other organizations make sense of the
puzzles they face, whether they involve complex business or organizational
dynamics, tough internal collaboration issues, distributed workgroups, or
complex messages.
Facilitated Systems' core
expertise includes system dynamics and systems thinking, online and
developmental facilitation, action learning and action research, process
design and improvement, and writing. Bill has been involved with
system dynamics for over 18 years and has over 30 years of business
experience.
