AeA Hosts Chilean Investment
Delegation, Oracle, Synopsys, & Yahoo

The AeA Silicon Valley/Northern California
Council and the Chilean Economic Development Agency (CORFO) held a Chilean
investment program, Chile: Your Nearshore Destination For IT And BPO, at
AeA's Santa Clara office on Thursday, June 14, 2007. The Chilean
Delegation was joined by industry speakers from Oracle, Synopsys, and Yahoo.

Valley/Northern CA Council, kicked-off the breakfast seminar. Betty
announced that this month, June 2007, AeA released another timely research
paper from the AeA Competitiveness Series on,
Opening Trade with Central and South America - This Region Is a Leading
Destination for U.S. High-Tech Exports. Between 2005 and 2006,
U.S. high-tech exports to Central and South America rose by 20 percent.
All industry research indicates there will continue to be growth of the
high-tech industry in this region.

Carlos Alvarez, EVP, CORFO, discussed Chile's
economic challenges and three focus areas of Chilean innovation set forth by
the Chilean President: Digital Agenda, Bio-Tech Agenda, and Near-Shore
Platform. Chile currently has 85,000 engineering students, half are 6
year and half are 4 year students, and their universities are continuing to
build their curriculum based on feedback from U.S. companies to produce the
desired technical talent pool, according to the presentation by Raul Rivera,
Director, Pro-Innovation Forum.
