High Tech Day at the Capitol
February 13, 2008

The Georgia Technology Leadership Coalition will hold its 8th Annual High Tech Day at the Capitol on February 13.  The purpose of High Tech Day at the Capital is to demonstrate to Georgia Legislators and other state elected and appointed officials the important role high tech companies play in the state 's economy and its future.  SEE BELOW FOR THE COMPLETE HIGH TECH DAY AT THE CAPITOL SCHEDULE.

The meetings are open and free to members of the AeA and Georgia Technology Leadership Coalition and registration is based on availability.  Registration for the Reception is open and free to all members online.  Use the "Add to Basket" link below or you may contact Regina Maddox at  678-352-9469.

Leaders of the TLC have included Eric Tanenblatt, who served as chief of staff to Governor Sonny Perdue, Carlos Cardoso, SE Regional Manager for Government Relations for Hewlett Packard, Brenda Jones, Director of Governmental Affairs for CheckFree, Randy Keith, CEO for Serenic Corporation.  

The TLC is currently chaired by Jeff Katz (bio), President of Definition6.  The TLC is administered by the AeA and its lobbyist, Cathy Woolard, former President of Atlanta City Council.

*6:00 PM – DINNER WITH MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE & SENATE SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEES -  Seating is limited and open to House & Senate Science Technology Committee members, High Tech Day Gold Level Sponsors and invited guests.

Noon 1:30 P.M. LUNCHEON MEETING WITH PATRICK MOORE, DIRECTOR, GEORGIA TECHNOLOGY AUTHORITY – Seating is limited and registration is required.

2:00 P.M. – LOBBYING AT THE CAPITOL – The 2008 Legislative Session has already been very active regarding technology issues and the voices of technology executives need to be heard in the Capitol.  Technology Leadership Coalition lobbyist Cathy Woolard will provide bullet points and relevant information for lobbying the appropriate legislators.  She will advise of committee meetings and votes relevant to the technology industry.  Timing is crucial and the issues are important!

LEGISLATIVE RECEPTION

5:00 pm – 7:00 pmRECEPTION WITH LEGISLATORS AND STATE OFFICIALS AND TECHNOLOGY EXECUTIVES.

Location: Georgia Railroad Freight Depot, Blue Room, 65 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Atlanta, GA 30334

The High Tech Day at the Capitol Reception is free to all AeA Members but registration is required.  Please RSVP to Regina Maddox at 678.352.9469 or register online.

The reception will include exhibits from tech companies demonstrating their technologies and products and the presentation of the Technology Policy Leadership Awards.  Complimentary food and drinks.
