AeA's
High-Tech Innovation Awards shine a spotlight on Orange County as a
breeding ground of innovation and raise awareness that the United States
must vigorously protect its position as the world leader in science and
technology.
Last year's 2006
High-Tech Innovation Awards set record levels for nominations and
attendance. AeA Orange County received more than 100 nominations and
recognized
16 innovators. The sold-out dinner and awards ceremony drew more
than 500 luminaries from local high-tech companies, financial and
government institutions as well as academic leaders, educators,
investors and media affiliates.

Nominations for the 2007 High-Tech
Innovation Awards are being accepted in the following categories:
Outstanding Private Company CEO, Outstanding Woman in Technology,
Outstanding Company, Outstanding Medical Device Company, Outstanding
Public Company CEO, High Impact Person of the Year, Community Service,
and
Innovative Products. Additionally, there are
four special categories to honor innovative educators and students in
Orange County. All submissions are due by March
9, 2007.

AeA Orange County will
once again partner with the nonprofit
Project Tomorrow
to recognize educators who are inspiring students to embrace science and
math education. In addition, for the first time, high school students will be
recognized.

Ed Coleman

| Ed Coleman, 55, is
chief executive officer of Gateway, Inc. A 30-year veteran of the
computer industry, he is a proven leader with a broad-based
background that includes a variety of sales and marketing,
operations, IT services and finance roles with some of the world's
most successful technology companies.
Before joining Gateway in September
2006, he served as senior vice president and president, Enterprise
Computing Solutions for Arrow Electronics, Inc., a major global
provider of products, services and solutions to industrial and
commercial users of electronic components and computer products.
Previously, Coleman was chairman, president and CEO of CompuCom
Systems, Inc., a $1.4 billion IT services and solutions provider
headquartered in Dallas, Texas. He led CompuCom as CEO from
December 1999 until November 2004 and as Chairman from 2001 to
2004. Prior to joining CompuCom, Coleman served in various
leadership roles at Computer Sciences Corporation, IBM and New
Jersey-based integrator MTS.
Coleman has been recognized in the
industry for his achievements at CompuCom in successfully
transforming its business model to a services-led business from
its PC reseller legacy. In 2003, Coleman was named one of Computer
Reseller News' "Top 25 Executives." He was also the recipient of
the 2004 VARBusiness 500 "Lifetime Achievement Award."
He earned a bachelor's degree in
economics from the College of William and Mary, and holds a
master's degree in business administration/marketing from Indiana
University. Coleman serves on the Board of Advisors of the College
of William and Mary School of Business, and is a member of the
Board of Directors of Red Oak Software. |
