Event Summary
On December 4, 2003, AeA hosted an HR Breakfast roundtable on Total
Compensation: Trends and Practices that Make a Difference
at AeA Member Company, LTX
Corporation in Westwood, MA.
Tom Wilson, President of Wilson
Group, Inc., opened the roundtable by reviewing the key economic forces
and their implications for human resources. He went on to
describe the drivers and drags on business prospects for 2004 and how these
are impacting HR strategies for the coming year.
Kara McLaughlin, Chief Executive Officer of The
Survey Group, shared data from recent surveys on trends in total
compensation and rewards practices. She addressed trends in budgeted salary
increases, equity participation, employee benefit and services and
development and recognition.
In conclusion, Tom Wilson reviewed the key
priorities and strategies that HR departments are now facing. He
proposed alternative reward strategies to improve retention strategies and to enhance recruitment. The roundtable ended with a
discussion of what attendees are planning at their respective companies to achieve their 2004
goals.
This AeA roundtable provided an excellent opportunity for member company
senior executives to meet and learn about how current compensation trends in an informal,
intimate setting. Special thanks to LTX Corporation for
hosting this event.
