Congressional Stock Options Fly-in on March 31, 2004.
Event Summary
On March 16, 2004, AeA New England hosted an AeA Issues Briefing on:
Stock Options and ESPPs: The Battle to Save Stock Options is Not Over. This briefing addressed AeA's current efforts to stop the proposed expensing of options and reviewed ways that local companies can help the industry win this important legislative battle.
Attendees were encouraged to contact members of Congress since they need to hear from company rank-and-file employees as well as senior managers all of whom will be impacted. "There is no tomorrow on this issue", said AeA's John Palafoutas, who also provided a preview of the association's up coming stock options fly-in to Washington, DC. He noted that this was the industry's chance to set the record straight on the negative impact this legislation would have.
This AeA Issues Briefing provided an excellent opportunity for member company senior executives to come together to learn about current efforts to defeat expensing and their potential impact on their companies. Special thanks to our sponsors, Silicon Valley Bank, Agilent Technologies, Sun Microsystems, and our host company,
Softrax Corporation in Canton, MA.
