Mr. Chuck Yen
Director, Compensation & Benefits Consulting (CBC)
Grant Thornton LLC

Chuck develops pay-for-performance programs that support the firm’s business strategy and align owner and manager interests. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, he worked in the human capital practices at Andersen and Deloitte Consulting.

Experience
Chuck has over 12 years of experience advising management and Boards of private, public and not-for-profit companies on the design, governance and regulatory aspects of executive and director compensation programs.

His projects include total rewards benchmarking, stock- and cash-based incentive design, stock ownership/retention guidelines, and executive retirement and benefit advisory including employment and severance arrangements. He has also worked on numerous projects within the context of transactions and restructurings including mergers and acquisitions and divestitures.

He has been a guest speaker on compensation and regulatory matters at numerous conferences and events sponsored by sponsored by Chicago Bank Tax Day, Executive Enterprises Institute, Affiliations World @ Work National Association of Stock Plan Professionals, Tennessee CPA Society, The SEC Institute and William Blair & Company.

Industry experience
Chuck has consulting experience in several industry groups including consumer goods, diversified financial services, energy, healthcare, manufacturing, professional services, retail/wholesale trade, transportation, and utilities.
 
Education 
Chuck received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from DePaul University and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business with concentrations in finance and strategy.
