Kym has worked in Health Promotion for 12 years and
specifically in Corporate Health Promotion in the managed care industry
for the last 6. She received her undergraduate degree in Health Management
and Policy, with a concentration in Health Promotion from the University
of New Hampshire, and a Master’s degree in Health Promotion and Exercise
Physiology from Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts. Additionally,
she holds personal training and strength and conditioning certifications.
Kym began her career in Malawi, Africa working in HIV
education, where she worked to lower rates of infection through health
education, and co-founded a home for children orphaned to the disease. In
2002, Kym won the first annual Reebok Inspirational Women’s award for her
work in women’s health education and fundraising. Prior to coming to United
HealthCare, Kym served as Wellness Manager in Rhode Island for another
health plan.
Kym lives in San Diego, CA and enjoys hiking, kayaking,
weight training, international travel, and home improvement projects.
