Stephen R. McGee is a director with Grant Thornton Corporate Finance LLC, the investment banking subsidiary of Grant Thornton LLP. Stephen has over 10 years M&A experience and is primarily responsible for initiating and executing M&A transactions.  In this capacity he coordinates the transaction process from buyer research through to deal structuring, negotiations and closing.

Since moving to Boston in 1998 his principal focus has been advising on middle market divestitures, management buyouts and recapitalizations. 

Stephen serves on Grant Thornton’s national Technology Industry Practice Leadership Team and also leads the investment banking group’s efforts in this industry.  He has advised on numerous transactions for software, hardware, IT services and life science companies.

Stephen also participates in Grant Thornton’s Business Leaders Council, a group of 35 forward-looking, innovate business leaders and executive from businesses nationwide.  The council meets twice a year to identify the emerging issues facing U.S. businesses.
