On Wednesday, March 8, 2006, AeA organized a
series of Sarbanes-Oxley lobbying meetings with C-Level executives from around the country.
Meetings were held with members of the U.S. Congress and their staff; the Securities and
Exchange Commission (SEC); and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board
(PCAOB).
The days events included:
- A fly-in of AeA's national
Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Working Group to meet with leaders of the SEC, PCAOB, and
Rep. Mike Oxley (R-OR) to discuss the burdensome costs of year two
implementation of SOX 404 requirements.
- A fly-in of Illinois technology executives
to meet with members of the Illinois Congressional Caucus on SOX and U.S.
Competitiveness.
- An AeA CyberSeries Luncheon, sponsored by
Hewlett-Packard, with Senator Gordon Smith (R-OR) at AeA's Washington,
DC, headquarters.
- And a networking event of technology
executives from the greater Washington area.
AeA's Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 Working
