Biography -

Joseph Addiego
Portfolio Manager, Partner
In-Q-Tel

In-Q-Tel is a Strategic Venture Capital Corporation funding through the Central Intelligence Agency. In-Q-Tel’s mission is to foster the development of new and emerging information technologies and pursue research and development (R&D) that produce solutions to some of the most difficult IT problems facing the CIA. To accomplish this, the Corporation networks extensively with those in industry, the venture capital community, academia, and any others who are at the forefront of IT innovation. Through the business relationships that it establishes, In-Q-Tel creates environments for collaboration, product demonstration, prototyping, and evaluation. From these activities will flow the IT solutions that the Agency seeks and, most importantly, the commercial opportunities for product development by its partners.

As In-Q-Tel’s portfolio manager, Joe is responsible for working with In-Q-Tel’s portfolio companies to develop fast-growing market leaders. His responsibilities include identifying and delivering the strategic support necessary to guide the companies through the various stages of development.

Joe began his technology career working for Fortune 500 technology companies, including Hewlett-Packard and AT&T. Over the past two decades, Joe has held a variety of senior management positions in sales, marketing and general management. He has successfully grown companies from early-stage, privately-funded ventures to thriving, publicly-traded organizations. Most recently, Joe served as senior vice president of marketing and sales at Talarian Corporation, where he was responsible for positioning the company for a successful IPO.
