American Electronics Association’s Midwest Council Announces Katrina Jobs Program
Industry Association To Promote Displaced Workers To Member Companies

IL – September 12, 2005 – The AeA Midwest Council announced today that it would accept and circulate resumes and job requests from the Katrina impacted regions. Potential job candidates will be encouraged to fax, email, or mail their qualifications to the AeA Midwest Council’s office. Job candidate information will be forwarded to each of the 130-member organization.
“The AeA’s Midwest Council represents a vibrant technological corridor with great opportunity,” said Marty Singer, PCTEL’s Chairman and CEO and the Chairman of the AeA’s Midwest Council. “We must make these opportunities available to those displaced by Katrina and demonstrate corporate responsibility in responding to this tragedy,” added Singer.
Nationally, AeA represents nearly 2,500 high-tech companies and is the largest technology trade organization in the county. “We are all eager to help those affected by Katrina and encourage members from the Midwest tech community to offer assistance to individuals in need of employment and additional resources,” said Ed Longanecker, Executive Director. AeA’s corporate member companies are among the nation’s largest high-tech employers, representing nearly 1.8 million technology workers nationwide.
