AeA Names Assembly Rep. Leader Dave Cox
California High-Tech Legislator of the Year

Cox to be honored at luncheon, five others to receive ‘AeA California Technology Leader’ distinction

Sacramento, CA – January 21, 2003 –AeA, the nation’s largest high-tech trade association, today announced Assembly Republican Leader Dave Cox will be presented with the respected AeA California High-Tech Legislator of the Year Award in February. This esteemed award recognizes his significant contributions to support the recovery of the high-tech industry in California during the 2002 Legislative Session.

"Dave has consistently supported the high-tech industry through words and action," said Mark Albertson, senior vice president California and the western United States. "He has repeatedly set the example for the Republican caucus by voting for issues that significantly impact the future of technology and California’s economy."

In addition to presenting Cox with the AeA California High-tech Legislator of the Year Award, AeA is recognizing five other California legislators with AeA California Technology Leader awards: Senator Charles Poochigian (R-Fresno), Assemblyman John Dutra (D-Fremont), Assemblyman Tom Harman (R-Huntington Beach), Assemblyman Dennis Hollingsworth (R-Murrieta), and Assemblyman Abel Maldonado (R-Santa Maria).

"These legislators showed tremendous leadership for high-tech in California by supporting us in important technology and business legislation such as privacy, electronics recycling and protective orders," said Roxanne Gould, AeA vice president for California public and legislative affairs.

AeA has been recognizing state legislators for their contributions to the success of high-tech since 1991.
