Washington, DC (March 4, 2008) – In a
statement made this morning to member companies, Christopher Hansen, AeA’s
President and CEO, announced staff changes that will enable further expansion of
AeA’s State Government Affairs Program across the country. Effective
immediately, Roxanne Gould will be promoted to Senior Vice President of State
Government Affairs. In this capacity, she will oversee and manage policy
activity in all 50 states. Mr. Hansen will also be naming six Regional Directors
of Policy who will report to Roxanne Gould and will focus on California and the
Midwest, northeast, northwest, southeast, and southern regions of the country.
“Our members asked us to create a more structured and integrated system of
representation throughout the states to assure consistency and effectiveness. We
listened to them,” said Christopher Hansen. “Roxanne has more than 20 years of
lobbying experience in State Capitols throughout the country, which makes her
the ideal candidate to lead AeA’s State Policy team. Her reputation as the go-to
expert on issues related to technology in California will quickly spread
throughout the country.”
Lead by Roxanne Gould, AeA will focus heavily on issues surrounding
environmental policy, RFID and emerging technologies, education and workforce
development, procurement, tax and fiscal issues, ecommerce, and general business
and state-specific legislation.
“I am truly honored and excited to be a part of AeA’s expansion of its State
Government Affairs Program,” said Roxanne Gould. “This is a very exciting time
for AeA and our member companies at large.”
“In addition to providing our members with a greater presence across the
country, I will be assigning staff to focus on specific policy areas that have
been established as top priorities to the high-tech industry,” Hansen continued.
“AeA already has a successful State Government Affairs program, and this
restructuring will simply build upon what already is a respected, multi-state
lobbying operation.”
