Washington, DC (February 11, 2008) –
Christopher Hansen, AeA’s President and CEO, announced today that Ms. Holly
Evans, President, Strategic Counsel, LLC, has joined forces with AeA to provide
advice and strategic direction to the Association and its member companies on
environmental policy issues at the state, international, and federal levels. Ms.
Evans is a renowned expert on key environmental law and policy issues facing the
high-tech industry, including global and U.S. chemical restrictions, energy
efficiency mandates, recycling requirements, and green procurement initiatives.
This announcement follows on the heels of AeA’s expansion of its state
government affairs program.
“Holly is a leading authority on environmental policy as it affects the
high-tech industry, and her experience, knowledge, and expertise will provide
value for AeA member companies,” said Mr. Hansen. “One of the biggest challenges
facing the high-tech industry today is the increasing number of environmental
bills and regulations at every level of government that have proliferated across
the country, imposing costly and burdensome requirements on manufacturers. Under
Holly’s trusted and experienced leadership, AeA will be even better positioned
to engage this legislation at every turn, and add to our lobbying capabilities
around the world.”
“I am excited about the opportunity to assist AeA and its member companies
track, monitor and manage the growing proliferation of product-related
environmental requirements that are being introduced and enacted worldwide that
impact electronic products,” said Holly Evans. “AeA has traditionally played a
leading role in this arena and I am honored that AeA has chosen me to help
continue its tradition of providing skilled staff, excellent service, and valued
product offerings to its member companies in the areas of environmental
compliance and regulatory management.”
As a result of this new partnership, AeA members will now have special
members-only access to Strategic Counsel’s acclaimed monthly newsletter,
Environmental Issues Update, which analyzes product-related environmental
requirements of relevance to the electronics industry.
