The objective of the AeA Customs Committee is to educate and keep members current on Customs regulations and issues, as well as to work with the United States and foreign governments as necessary to make Customs procedures streamlined, effective, and transparent for both government and industry.
The committee is made up of over 170 Customs and global trade professionals from U.S. high technology
companies. It is one of the largest and most active committees in AeA.

Participating Companies
The AeA Customs Committee has
the following subcommittees which function as working groups. These
subcommittees develop position papers, comment letters, education events,
best practices documents, and work closely with government agencies as
representatives from the high tech industry on Customs matters.

The AeA Customs Committee is
recognized as the high tech industry source for Customs issues by U.S.
Customs and Border Protection. The committee also works closely with the
U.S. International Trade Commission and the Office of the United State
Trade Representative.
The committee meets quarterly, bringing in guest speakers from Capitol
Hill and the Administration. The subcommittees also provide updates on
their work during these meetings. On a daily basis, committee members are
kept abreast of Customs issues via emails covering new articles, new
regulations and hearings on Capitol Hill.
