About the Program

Energy costs have increased dramatically over the past year and experts widely agree energy costs will become a key business consideration as worldwide demand continues to increase. Many supply-chain strategies are now obsolete as the landed cost of goods has risen sharply.

The time is now to understand the trends, evaluate the impact on your business and develop an awareness of practices to avoid a setback in your business. Our panelists will discuss the trends we are seeing today and discuss strategies for addressing a changing business environment as it relates to energy.

Panelists:

Eric Strid, Chairman, CTO and Co-Founder of Cascade Microtech, Inc.
Eric co-founded Cascade Microtech in 1984 and successfully grew it to a $100 million publicly traded manufacturer of precision testing equipment and probe cards for the semiconductor industry. Eric has long been an advocate of conservation and the impact on businesses by high energy prices and has begun various “green” initiatives at Cascade Microtech.

Ty Bettis, Renewable Resource Manager at Portland General Electric
At PGE, Ty is responsible for managing the renewable energy portfolio.  He also has significant experience in trading commodities for PGE.  He will share his insights on where he sees costs going as well as comment on some of the initiatives that PGE is undertaking to control these costs.

Moderator:

Ray Link, CFO of FEI Company
FEI’s tools for nanotechnology are serving a wide range of applications for material and life sciences and research at the atomic scale, including leading edge thin film photovoltaic semiconductor processors.

Who should attend?

CEOs, CFOs and anyone interested in learning about energy cost trends and cutting edge technology and solutions to doing business in the new high energy cost paradigm.
