A principal in Austin Capital Management, LLC, in Beaverton, Ore. and president of the Oregon State Board of Higher Education. Kirby Dyess specializes in early stage investments in Pacific Northwest companies. She retired from Intel corporation in 2003 where she was corporate vice president and director of operations for Intel Capital, Intel’s strategic investment group. In addition to managing the organization’s operations, her group managed more than 50 Intel mergers and acquisitions. Dyess spent more than 10 years at ICN Medical Laboratories Inc. in Portland, where she started and operated the Diagnostic Products Division. She holds a degree in physics. Kirby serves on several boards including, OHSU’s governing board; the public company boards of Merix Corporation and Itron Corporation; plus three local private company boards.
