On
October 31, 2006, AeA New England held its first webinar, sponsored by
ACT Teleconferencing. The
topic, U.S. Export Controls: Determining Which Regulatory
Regime Applies to Your Business, was presented by Kerry Scarlott,
Esq., Partner at Posternak Blankstein and & Lund LLP. Kerry
discussed how today's U.S. businesses are subject to an increasingly
complex array of regulatory controls on the export of their products,
services and technical data. He provided critical information on
how to determine which regulatory regime applies in any given
circumstance, how you know when an "export" occurs, and how you can
best communicate with prime contractors and the government.
The webinar was attended by
approximately 40 executives and managers who were either engaged in,
or interested in engaging in, international trade. High tech
companies of all sizes and from all over country were represented --
one individual even joined from the United Kingdom!
The webinar was
recorded via telephone and was available to attendees for playback for
two weeks.
This webinar preceded a live ITAR
seminar, U.S Export
Controls: Update on Key Regulatory Compliance and Security
Considerations, scheduled for Thursday, December 7 in
Chelmsford, MA.
