Special thank you to our speakers (left to right): Christopher Flanagan,
Partner, Palmer & Dodge LLP and AeA's Manager and Counsel for Tax
Policy, Marie Lee. |
On August 30, 2005, AeA presented a "Special Edition" CxO Briefing
on SOX 404, SEC Changes & Federal Tax Reform hosted by AeA member
Silicon Valley Bank and SVB
Alliant in Newton, MA.
AeA's Marie Lee began
the briefing by providing an overview of the political environment in
Washington, DC. She went on to discuss AeA's work to facilitate discussion
with the SEC and PCAOB on the impact of SOX 404 on high-tech companies. She shared preliminary results of an AeA and NASDAQ survey that
queried companies on their SOX 404 experience and sought recommendations on what still needs to be done to improve
implementation. Complete survey results will be posted to AeA's website in
the near future.
Next was a presentation by Christopher Flanagan,
Partner, Palmer & Dodge LLP, who provided an overview of Federal tax reform
proposals currently being discussed. He examined
the proposals in their current form and the impact if implemented.
Special thanks to Silicon Valley Bank and SVB Alliant for hosting this event.
