As a follow on to two previous events focused on international environmental regulations impacting high-tech companies, this program is designed to enable your environmental, compliance and/or engineering staff to better understand and comply with the WEEE, RoHS and REACH. This is a timely topic given the impending deadlines of 2005 and 2006 for these directives and mandates, which call for new monitoring and reporting of chemicals used in high-tech products or outright chemical bans that are driving sweeping design changes across the technology supply chain.

In this interactive seminar, you will learn:

  • How to comply with EU and China regulations that require manufacturers to finance the recycling and disposal of most electronics waste (WEEE Directive) and eliminate the use of six Hazardous materials (RoHS Directive).
  • How to ensure your products are not stopped, or worse, rejected, at the border of an important overseas market.
  • About the status of similar legislation in China, and in state legislations (currently there are 39 e-waste bills pending in 11 U.S. states), and what this means for the high-tech industry.
  • Best practices and opportunities from your peers.
