Event Summary

AeA New England's Mining for Technology Gems at the Boston Harbor Hotel was attended by nearly 60 high-tech executives and institutional investors. The event was sponsored by AeA Associate member Knight Equity Markets, L.P. William (Bill) Archey, President and CEO of AeA William (Bill) Archey, President and CEO of AeA, was the featured dinner speaker. Bill gave a sneak preview of a paper AeA is preparing for the new Congress, the White House and other important groups. The paper looks at some of the competitive challenges facing high-tech and the country and is a somber assessment at least in part.

Local technology companies met in informal sessions with institutional investors prior to the dinner. 
Mark Chung, Director of Investor Relations from Brooks Automation, Inc., meets with institutional investors. Brooktrout's Eric Giler, CEO, Bob Leahy, VP of Finance and Erin Reilly, Coordinator of IR, discuss their company with investors. Moldflow's Suzanne MacCormack, CFO and Ken Welch, General Manager and Executive VP, meet with institutional investors.

Following one-on-one sessions between companies and investors, attendees enjoyed cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and great networking.

Anne Doherty Johnson, Executive Director, AeA, welcomes attendees to Mining for Technology Gems.  Marla Serwin, Knight's Boston Managing Director, gives an overview of her company before introducing Bill Archey. Bill Archey addresses an attentive audience about key trends in global education.
