On July 15, 2004, AeA New England hosted an HR Breakfast Roundtable featuring an
Employment Law Update on the Impact of SJC Rulings at AeA member company
MKS Instruments,
Inc. in Wilmington, MA.
Judy Malone, Chair of the Labor & Employment group of Palmer & Dodge
LLP, and Palmer & Dodge associate Sean Becker provided an employment law update. The two led an interactive forum in which recent employment law cases were discussed and an overview of the new Fair Labor Standards Act regulations was provided. In addition, Ms. Malone and Mr. Becker presented guidance on how to avoid wrongful termination claims. Sources of potential legal liability were examined and tips for how to anticipate, and prevent, future litigation were shared.
This AeA roundtable provided an excellent opportunity for member company
senior HR professionals to meet and learn about recent Federal and state court rulings and how they affect
the workforce in an informal,
intimate setting.
