On May 13, 2004, AeA New England hosted an HR Breakfast Roundtable on
Mitigating Insurance & Benefit Cost Increases: Strategies for Today’s
Market, which was sponsored by Marsh, an AeA member and business
partner. The attendees heard from expert speakers in the benefits area on several
topical issues. These included how to identify the underlying issues driving today's healthcare cost increases, factors contributing to your company's specific costs, how to fully understand and implement emerging alternatives such as consumer directed healthcare and why you should fully involve both employees and management in driving the economics and direction of benefits.
Information was also shared on chronic disease management and how this can impact your employees and your company's insurance premiums. Also discussed were alternatives to cutting back in benefit areas such as dental, disability programs, or other programs.
