Twenty-two private technology companies presented during
this one-day event. Each company made one 6-minute presentation during a General
Session. Following the General Sessions, company executives had the opportunity to
display information and products as well as meet with investors during a tradeshow-like
networking reception.
Attendees were able to take advantage of the morning and
luncheon speakers, as well as the educational seminars presented by industry experts.
Morning keynote, Joseph Addiego, Partner for In-Q-Tel, presented "Augmenting Traditional Venture Capital Funding Strategies with Strategic
Venture Capital."
Luncheon speaker, Renay San Miguel,
Technology Anchor and Correspondent for CNN Headline News spoke on "More Main Street,
less Wall Street"...after the dot-come collapse, Enron, Arthur Andersen, Merrill
Lynch and Congress/the SEC looking into analysts at brokerages.
Educational seminar panelists presented their analysis of the public market, including
which sectors should receive public and private funding, as well discussed the current
state of venture capital in the Southeast. Company executives that were not ready to
present were invited to register to attend the educational seminars and luncheon speaker.
