Toshiba America Information Systems,
Inc., Digital Products Division is pleased to present the second annual
Toshiba Green Innovation Award recognizing outstanding companies and
organizations in Orange County for their commitment to green innovation.
RULES
1. Candidates must be a company or organization in Orange County, Calif.
(Individual or private citizen candidates are not permitted.)
2. Submissions will be screened by an application review panel. Top
candidates will be notified and invited by Sept. 16, 2008 to make a
presentation to judges at Toshiba on Sept. 25, 2008.
3. Up to 6 final candidates will be invited to present at the Green
Innovation Award Innovator Showcase and Fast Pitch during the OCI
Innovation and Globalization in Green conference on Wednesday., Oct. 1, 2008
at 10 a.m. at the Hyatt Irvine.
4. Candidates invited to make a presentation should be prepared to make
a Fast Pitch for 2-5 minutes with PowerPoint material support to cover:
- Nature of Business or Organization
- Description and background of
Candidate
- Benefit to the environment of
Candidate
- Innovation associated with Candidate
5. The Panel of Judges will score each
presentation on:
- Environmental Value: Score 1 to 10
- Innovation Level: Score 1 to 10
6. All presentations and associated
material must be non-confidential, non-proprietary and releasable to the
public and the media. NO CONFIDENTIAL OR PROPRIETARY INFORMATION, OR
SUCH MARKINGS, WILL BE ADMITTED.
7. The Panel of Judges will select the Winner
based on the presentations made at the Green Innovation Award Innovator
Showcase and Fast Pitch. The Winner will be announced and will receive
the TOSHIBA AMERICA GREEN INNOVATION AWARD at the conference luncheon at
11:45 a.m. on Wednesday., Oct. 1.

2. Description of Candidate
In 100 words or less, describe the product, service, technology,
investment or business operation (“Candidate”) that is the submission
for the Green Innovation Award.
3. Impact on Environment
In 100 words or less, describe the value or positive impact that the
Candidate has or will have on the environment.
4. Nature of Innovation
In 100 words or less, describe the innovation embodied in the Candidate.
Do not include proprietary or confidential information.
PRIZES
1. The grand prize winner will receive
$5,000 and a Toshiba laptop PC.
2. Second- and third-prize winners will receive $3,000 and $1,000,
respectively, and a Toshiba laptop PC.
3. A live audience participation vote at the event will select a
“People’s Choice” winner. That winner will win a Toshiba laptop PC.
GENERAL CONDITIONS. Entrants agree
to abide by the terms of these Official Rules, and by decisions of
Sponsor, which are final. No transfer, substitution or cash redemption
for prize except by Sponsor due to prize unavailability, in which case a
prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. Sponsor is not
responsible for entries that are lost, late, misdirected, damaged,
incomplete, altered, or illegible, or for any computer, on-line,
telephone or technical malfunctions that may occur. Acceptance of prize
constitutes permission (except where prohibited) to use winner's name
and address for advertising and promotional purposes, without additional
compensation. By entering, entrants release and hold harmless Sponsor,
its parent companies, directors, officers, employees and agents from any
and all liability arising from or in connection with the contest. All
taxes on prize are winner's responsibility.
