Event Overview

Have you ever been asked for a professional photo from a press or public relations representative for time sensitive coverage--and did not have one available?  Ever wonder how your competitors secure press coverage (i.e. blogs, magazines, newspapers, radio shows) and you have not?  Whipped up an electronic or print message to the press and rarely received any response?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, it may be time to reassess your approach by speaking with three of Orange County's distinguished media experts during AeA Orange County Council's Meet the Media Mixer, Tuesday, May 20, 2008, from 5:30PM – 8:30PM, at Dave & Busters, Irvine.  The mixer is a Growth Matters event and is open to AeA members and non-members. This is a valuable occasion for marketing and public relations professionals, or tech executives who do not have PR resources.  Admission is $35 Members/ $45 Non-Members. Click here to register.  See below for additional registration details.

The evening will kick-off with attendees networking, while enjoying a light dinner buffet, followed by a panel of media professionals discussing how to get your news published and broadcasted.  Topics to be discussed at the panel will include:  What goes into creating a successful public relations campaign, what makes for building effective relationships with the press and bloggers, and how to leverage social media to generate buzz?  These questions and others will be answered during this event.

Scheduled Panelist:
With the discussion moderated by Cara Good, chief executive officer, WunderMarxPR Inc., panelists will include Linda Melone, OC Metro Business, Colin Stewart, The Orange County Register, and Sara Tolkoff, Orange County Business Journal.

"Reading books and theories are okay, but nothing compares to this exclusive opportunity to speak directly with the sources responsible for getting credible messages out to millions of readers, viewers, and listeners who are your customers," said Don Hicks, AeA OC Executive Director. "OC Meet The Media is in alignment with my vision to deliver to AeA members and colleagues quality events that build their resources and networks."

If there is a special question that has been on your mind and you would like it answered during the event, please email it to Program Marketing Manager Yalanda Oglesby at yalanda_oglesby@aeanet.org or call directly at 949-450-1500 ext. 101.  If you are not able to attend, please share event details with other executives and colleagues you think may be interested or could benefit from the experience.
