AeA
Orange County hosted it's first Meet The Media mixer at Dave & Buster's,
May 20, 2008. The sold-out event attracted AeA members and
colleagues representing the tech, law, and marketing industries.
Attendees
enjoyed an hour of cocktails and networking, followed by dinner,
and an unforgettable panel discussion regarding the best ways to get your
key messages to the press.
With the discussion moderated by Cara Good, Chief Executive Officer,
WunderMarxPR Inc., panelists
featured
Colin Stewart,
The Orange
County Register, Kimberly Keilbach, freelance writer, and Sarah Tolkoff,
Orange County Business Journal.
"I enjoy events like this where it's
intimate and we have the opportunity to learn ways to better communicate
our messages with the press," said James Chung, Business Development
Specialist, Trinet Internet Solutions, Inc. "I really enjoyed
the Q&A structure. It started off with some pre-arranged questions with
time for questions from the floor. The panel was excellent. All
[of the panelists] answered the questions honestly and sufficiently. I'm really looking
forward to future events like this."
"The Meet The Media event was an opportunity for me to gain more
perspective on the challenges the public relations and marketing
departments face and how their responsibilities compliment the sales
department's goals and objectives," said Terry O'Neil, CMS Products,
Vice President.
"Meet The Media was such a success, we plan to make it an annual
event," said Don Hicks, Executive Director, AeA. "I'm really
excited about the turn-out and based on the feed back, it was the kind
of event that reflects one of AeA Orange County's core initiatives,
Growth Matters. Our main objective with Growth Matters
is to develop events that will enhance Orange County and
Inland Empire businesses' processes and expand their bottom line."
