Event Overview

TechAmerica (formerly AeA) will again host the event of the year for the high-tech community in Southern California. The 16th Annual High-Tech Innovation Awards, themed Inventing The Future, directs the spotlight of innovation and U.S. competitiveness on Orange County. The ballroom will be filled with luminaries from local high-tech companies, political leadership, community leaders, educators, investors and media affiliates. This is an extra special evening where we recognize outstanding achievements of innovation in the following categories:

TechAmerica Lifetime Achievement Award

TechAmerica Orange County is proud to present Nick E.Yocca, Stradling, Yocca, Carlson & Rauth with the Lifetime Achievement Award.  Yocca leads the Firm's Transaction Law Group. He has represented numerous companies for their corporate business and transactions.

With over 20 years of experience in this specialty, Nick has represented clients involved in many different industries such as electronics, software, the Internet, medical devices, financial services, banking, insurance, aerospace, manufacturing, business services and cosmetics.

Clients have included Microsemi Corporation, DPAC Technologies, Applied Data Communications, South Coast Commercial Bank, HiLevel Technology, JAVO Beverage Company, S.two Corp., HoldRite, Productivity Enhancement Products, Information Logix, Force Fuels, MetroConnect, Cyvergence, Apriori Beauty, Davies Ingersoll, Forbes Technology Group, PerSage and Affiliate Media. Nick also has represented AST Computers, Silicon Systems, Archive Corporation, Comprehensive Care Corporation, Offshore Pipelines, NetSoft, Powerwave, Smartflex Systems, Routerware, Denim Software, Helisys, and EnPointe Technology.

Greg Ross Community Service Award

TechAmerica Orange County is looking forward to presenting
Richard Shuttleworth with the Greg Ross Community Service Award.  Shuttleworth is currently Head of Product Advisory Services at Silicon Valley Bank. In this role he manages a team of product experts and implementation specialists in International, Investments and Cash Management for SVB in California.

He formerly managed a team of SVB commercial lenders targeting emerging high-tech and life science companies headquartered in Orange County. Shuttleworth has 32 years of banking experience in corporate, international, middle market, and technology lending.

He was with First Interstate/Wells Fargo for 20 years, and has been with SVB for the past twelve years. He received a bachelor’s degree from Denison University, and a MBA from the University of Southern California.

Shuttleworth has been active in a number of Orange County organizations over the years. He formerly was on the Executive Committee of the AeA’s Orange County Council, and was also on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Venture Group and OCTANe.
