“Does Your Company Benefit from AeA’s
Industry Leading Customs and Export Controls Committees?”
Is your company active in international trade? Do you know if your
products require an export license? Would you like to see thousands
or millions of dollars in
duties eliminated on your products in global markets? Would you like
to have an impact on trade laws and regulations? Would you like to
hear about best practices in trade compliance from industry leading
companies? If yes, involvement in AeA’s Export Controls and Customs
Committees will greatly benefit your business. AeA has the high tech
industry’s largest and most active Customs and Export Controls
Committees, and participation is open to any interested AeA member.
The two committees meet quarterly - rotating between the East and
West Coasts. Those unable to attend in person, dial into the meeting
via a conference call. The quarterly meetings are only for AeA
members and free of charge. During the meetings, the committees hear
reports from subcommittee work groups, updates from congressional
staff and senior government officials, share best practices in
regulatory compliance, and network with industry colleagues.
In addition, the committees are frequently involved in preparing
detailed comments for U.S. and foreign government officials and
congressional committees. Aside from the quarterly meetings, there
are regular conference call discussions among members of the
subcommittee work groups. Finally, all committee members, whether
frequent participants in committee work or not, receive information
on a regular basis such as pertinent trade articles, regulation
changes, legislative developments, and other compliance-related
information. Check out the
AeA Customs and Export Controls webpages for a listing of
participating companies, upcoming meetings, recent activities and
accomplishments.
Current subcommittee work groups are listed below:
- Export Controls Committee:

China
Encryption
High Performance Computer
