AeA's
High-Tech Innovation Awards shine a spotlight on Orange County as a
breeding ground of innovation and raise awareness that the United States
must vigorously protect its position as the world leader in science and
technology.
Last year's 2006
High-Tech Innovation Awards set record levels for nominations and
attendance. AeA Orange County received more than 100 nominations and
recognized
16 innovators. The sold-out dinner and awards ceremony drew more
than 500 luminaries from local high-tech companies, financial and
government institutions as well as academic leaders, educators,
investors and media affiliates.

Nominations for the 2007 High-Tech
Innovation Awards are being accepted in the following categories:
Outstanding Private Company CEO, Outstanding Woman in Technology,
Outstanding Company, Outstanding Medical Device Company, Outstanding
Public Company CEO, High Impact Person of the Year, Community Service,
and
Innovative Products. Additionally, there are
four special categories to honor innovative educators and students in
Orange County. All submissions are due by March
9, 2007.

AeA Orange County will
once again partner with the nonprofit
Project Tomorrow
to recognize educators who are inspiring students to embrace science and
math education. In addition, for the first time, high school students will be
recognized.

A technology company is one whose principal business either designs,
manufacturers, or conducts research in electronics, electronic components,
telecommunications, software, the Internet, medical technologies, and/or
related information technology products and services.
1. Outstanding Company:
Presented to the technology company headquartered in Orange, Riverside or
San Bernardino County which has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in
one or more of the following areas: revenue growth, profitability, product
innovation, public policy leadership, employer-employee relations and
community relations.
2. Outstanding Woman in
Technology: Presented to a female technology executive who has
demonstrated exceptional performance in the areas of leadership, product or
company innovation or community relations.
3. Outstanding Public Company CEO: Presented to the Public
Company CEO headquartered in Orange, Riverside or San Bernardino County who
has demonstrated outstanding leadership in meeting the unique challenges
public companies face. Revenue growth, profitability, product innovation,
public policy leadership, employer-employee relations, crisis management and
community relations are among those factors that will be evaluated.
4. Outstanding Private
Company CEO: Presented to the Private Company CEO headquartered in
Orange, Riverside or San Bernardino County who has demonstrated outstanding
leadership in meeting the unique challenges private companies face. Revenue
growth, profitability, product innovation, public policy leadership,
employer-employee relations, crisis management and community relations are
among those factors that will be evaluated.
5. Outstanding Medical
Device Company: Recognizing the region’s unique position as a leader
in medical technology innovation, this new award will be presented to a
medical device company headquartered in Orange, Riverside or San Bernardino
County which has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in one or more of
the following areas: revenue growth, profitability, product innovation,
public policy leadership, employer-employee relations and community
relations.
6. High Impact Person of
the Year: Presented to a member of the community who
had a profound impact on advancing the business of technology in 2006.
Nominees may include but are not limited to technology executives, nonprofit
executives, government officials, investors and educators.
