April 2, 2008:  AeA Report Shows that Georgia’s Tech Industry Adds 3,000 Jobs
Nationally, Cyberstates 2008 shows that the high-tech industry added jobs for the third consecutive year. Tech industry employment totaled 5.9 million, after adding 91,400 jobs in 2007. This is on top of job gains of 139,000 in 2006 and 87,400 in 2005...read more.

February 21, 2008:  AeA Southeast Council Honors Senator Hill, State CIO Moore
Sen. Judson Hill, (R-Marietta) and Patrick Moore, Executive Director of the Georgia Technology Authority and the state’s CIO, are the recipients of the 2007 Technology Policy Leadership Awards from the Technology Leadership Coalition (TLC) which is the governmental affairs arm of the AeA (formerly the American Electronics Association), Southeast Council....read more.

February 13, 2008:  AeA High Tech Day at the Capital
Norcross High School (Gwinnett County Public Schools) students of the FIRST Robotics team "Gear Devils," made up of 30 students from grades 9-12 present their robots to Georgia state legislators at the 2008 AeA High Tech Day at the Capital Reception in Atlanta.


Approximately  75% of team alumni are pursuing or have earned a degree in engineering or a related technology field.

September 20, 2007:  Leaders of the Southeast Technology Community were Honored at the Annual AeA Southeast Spirit of Endeavor Awards Banquet
The 2007 Southeastern "Spirit of Endeavor" Awards program, hosted in Atlanta, GA, honored those people and companies based in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi who have had significant accomplishments within the technology industry.

July 17, 2007:  Georgia's Tech Exports Totaled $3 Billion in 2006 and North Carolina Exported $3.3 Billion, Says AeA Report
Nationally, Trade in the Cyberstates 2007 shows that international trade of high-tech goods continues to rise.  High-tech goods exports grew by 10 percent for a total of $220 billion in 2006, representing 21 percent of all U.S. exports to the world...read more.
