March 31, 2009:  TechAmerica Report Shows that Tech Industry Remains Bright Spot in Georgia Economy
The Cyberstates 2009 report - which details national and state trends in high-tech employment, wages, and other key economic factors for all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico - shows that Georgia's high-tech industry added 13,000 net jobs to its economy, totaling 177,500 in 2007, the most current year for which state data is available. This is the second net job gain since the bursting of the tech bubble in 2001. The average Georgia tech worker earned $79,700 in 2007, or 87 percent more than the state’s average private sector wage of $42,700....read more.

September 23, 2008: Georgia Ranks in Top Ten in Four of Eight Tech Export Sectors in 2007

New! Trade in the Cyberstates 2008 examines high-tech trade flows at the national level and tech goods exports for all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.  The report shows that nationally, high-tech is the largest merchandise export sector in the United States, with $214 billion in 2007.

June 24, 2008:  Atlanta Ranks 10th Nationwide by High-Tech Employment, with 126,700 Jobs, Reports AeA

Cybercities 2008 examines the high-tech industry in the nation’s 60 largest metro areas focusing on tech employment, wages, establishments, payroll, employment concentration, and wage differential. The report compares different U.S. regions and delves into the 16 sectors that comprise the high-tech industry for these 60 cities.

February 11, 2009:  AeA High Tech Day at the Capital

Norcross High School (Gwinnett County Public Schools) students of the FIRST Robotics team "Gear Devils," made up of 30 students from grades 9-12 present their robots to Georgia state legislators at the 2008 AeA High Tech Day at the Capital Reception in Atlanta.


Approximately  75% of team alumni are pursuing or have earned a degree in engineering or a related technology field.
