AeA Selects 'High-tech Legislators Hall of Fame' Inductees

Senator Allard, Reps. Dicks & Houghton to be Honored May 21, 2002

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 27, 2002 – AeA, the nation’s largest high-tech trade association, announced today that it will induct Senator Wayne Allard (R-CO), Representative Norman Dicks (D-WA) and Representative Amo Houghton (R-NY) into its "High-tech Legislators Hall of Fame" May 21. The legislators will be honored formally at a dinner at the Loews L’Enfant Plaza in Washington, DC.

Recipients of the awards are selected using the following criteria: sponsorship of significant legislation affecting the high-tech industry; support of major legislative issues affecting the high-tech industry; and continual efforts to educate public policy officials about the issues affecting the high-tech industry.

"These legislators astutely recognize the importance of the high-tech industry to the nation’s economy. They have demonstrated their leadership to the benefit of the high-tech industry and the nation’s well-being," said William Archey, AeA president and CEO.

Past AeA Hall of Fame inductees have included: Senators Trent Lott, Joseph Lieberman, Pete Dominici, Christopher Dodd, Robert Bennett, Ron Wyden and Max Baucus; Representatives Anna Eshoo, Billy Tauzin, Robert Matsui, Thomas Davis, James Moran, David Dreier and Cal Dooley.
