
AeA Selects 'High-tech Legislators
Hall of Fame' Inductees
Senator Allard, Reps. Dicks & Houghton to be Honored May 21, 2002
WASHINGTON, D.C., March 27, 2002 AeA, the nations largest
high-tech trade association, announced today that it will induct Senator Wayne Allard (R-CO), Representative Norman Dicks (D-WA) and Representative Amo Houghton (R-NY) into its "High-tech
Legislators Hall of Fame" May 21. The legislators will be honored formally at a
dinner at the Loews LEnfant Plaza in Washington, DC.
Recipients of the awards are selected using the following criteria:
sponsorship of significant legislation affecting the high-tech industry; support of major
legislative issues affecting the high-tech industry; and continual efforts to educate
public policy officials about the issues affecting the high-tech industry.
"These legislators astutely recognize the importance of the high-tech
industry to the nations economy. They have demonstrated their leadership to the
benefit of the high-tech industry and the nations well-being," said William
Archey, AeA president and CEO.
Past AeA Hall of Fame inductees have included: Senators Trent Lott, Joseph
Lieberman, Pete Dominici, Christopher Dodd, Robert Bennett, Ron Wyden and Max Baucus;
Representatives Anna Eshoo, Billy Tauzin, Robert Matsui, Thomas Davis, James Moran, David
Dreier and Cal Dooley.
